Mileage log for iPhone and Android

A mileage log for $9.99 a year.
Not $10 a month.

Tap Start Trip and drive, or add a trip by address. Email yourself a PDF and spreadsheet at the IRS rate for any period. No account, no ads, no analytics.

First 10 trips free, with every feature. US only, miles and IRS rates. Both apps are in store review now.

Mileagetastic recording a trip: 12.4 miles so far, with Pause and End buttons

How it works

Three taps between a drive and a report

Tap Start Trip and drive

Distance is measured by GPS, even with the screen locked. The start and end addresses fill in for you. Pause and End from the lock screen.

Or add a trip afterwards

Pick a start and an end, choose the route you took from the map’s alternatives, and the miles are set. Log the return trip in one tap.

Email the report

A PDF and a spreadsheet for any month, quarter, year, or dates you choose, with each trip’s miles and amount at the IRS rate in effect that day.

The report

The PDF your finance team or tax preparer actually wants

Each trip on its own line: date, from, to, purpose, miles, the rate in effect that day, and the amount. Totals at the bottom. A CSV comes along for the spreadsheet people.

  • Any month, quarter, year, or custom dates
  • Filter by purpose and by tag (a client, a platform, a vehicle)
  • Opens your own mail app with both files attached; you send it

Why this one

Built to be cheap, private, and out of the way

$9.99 a year

The other mileage apps charge $5 to $14 a month. Mileagetastic Annual is $9.99 a year, with Family Sharing on. The first 10 trips are free with every feature.

Private by design

No account, no server of ours, no ads, no analytics. Your trips stay on your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup, which we cannot see.

One tap, not a swipe pile

No automatic drive detection to clean up afterwards. You start the trips you want logged, and nothing is recorded in between.

Rates stay current

The IRS standard mileage rates update on their own, including mid-year changes, with no app update. Or set your own rate per purpose.

Nothing to sign up for

Install it and start the first trip. There is no login, no email to confirm, and nothing of yours on our side to delete.

Business, medical, charity

Every trip has a purpose, which sets its rate, plus optional tags and a note. Filter reports by purpose and tag.

Who it is for

Anyone who gets paid, or deducts, by the mile

Gig and delivery drivers

DoorDash, Uber, Instacart, Amazon Flex. Mileage is usually your biggest deduction; log it for less than one delivery’s tip a year.

Self-employed and small business

A dated log with miles, destination, and purpose for every trip, the way the IRS asks for it, and a report your preparer can use as is.

Reimbursed employees

Field sales, home health, real estate, property management. Send finance the monthly PDF and CSV in one step.

Caregivers and volunteers

Medical appointments and charity driving have their own IRS rates. Tag the trips and the report does the arithmetic.

Pricing

Free to start. $9.99 a year after ten trips.

Every feature from the first trip. When the tenth trip is kept, recording, adding, and editing trips needs Mileagetastic Annual. What you already logged stays yours to view, report on, and delete, subscribed or not.
